This addition to our very popular E5CN series allows us to provide essential protection to high-powered industrial heating equipment.
This FM approved limit controller is primarily intended to monitor the temperature of gas flame heated industrial equipment, such as incinerators or ovens, and provide a fail-safe contact that will open in the case of an over-temperature incident, shutting down the equipment and preventing further damage.
The point of an FM limit controller is that these control contacts will not remake until manually reset by an operator. A resettable annunciator alarm output is also available.
Option cards further enhance the versatility of this device. We have an RS485 serial communications option card (using Omron's Compoway F, or Modbus protocols), and a digital event input card that would allow users to remotely reset the 'limit' output.
These E5CN-FR limit controllers share the features of the standard E5CN series in that they will accept one of several thermocouples and RTDs. They also have the 11-segment bi-colour display that eases programming and enhances readability.
