This standalone data logger measures and stores up to 16,379 relative humidity and 16,379 temperature readings over 0 to 100%RH and -35 to +80°C (-31 to +176°F) measurement ranges. The user can easily set up the logger and view downloaded data by plugging the data logger into a PC’s USB port and using the supplied software. Relative humidity, temperature and dew point (the temperature at which water vapour present in the air begins to condense) data can then be graphed, printed and exported to other applications.

Measure flow from outside a pipe. This new Portaflow PT500 Transit Time Flow Meter is designed for clean liquids like water, oils and most chemicals. Recommended for troubleshooting, spot checks and balancing flow. Clamp-on sensors mount on the outside of plastic or metal pipes and ultrasonic signals are injected through the pipe between the two sensors. It works on any pipe diameter from 0.51 to 78” (13-2000 mm) OD.

Greyline PT500 features include a large, backlit graphics display, 4-20mA output, data logger, RS232 and USB outputs, a user-friendly operating system with “Quick Start” calibration menu, plus ability to store calibrations for up to 20 different sites. It operates 16 hours on internal battery and recharges overnight.

The MS1500E is a hand-held, battery-powered, corrosion meter capable of measuring and storing data from all types of electrical resistance (ER) corrosion probes. The instrument is light weight, microprocessor-based, and features a simple, menu-driven interface using a 12-key keypad and a 4-line LCD display.

Corrosion rate measurements are made using the electrical resistance method. Essentially, the instrument measures the resistance of the probe element which changes over time, as metal loss occurs. The rate of change is directly proportional to corrosion rate. This method finds a wide variety of applications since it can be used in conductive and nonconductive environments such as petroleum, chemical, water, soil, or even atmosphere.

Vortex Tubes – a unique spot cooling device using no electricity

The vortex tube is unique technology that takes compressed air divides it into two flows - one end of the tube gets hot and the other tube gets cold. It was a little known technology 30 years ago but now is commonly used in several types of useful devices.

Compressed air, typically at 80-to 100 PSlG enters the vortex tube from the side at a tangent and enters through the generator into the tube, causing the air to spin. This air stream spins toward the hot end where some leaves the tube via the control valve. The remaining, spinning air travels back up the center of the tube. The inner spinning stream gives off heat energy to the outer stream (which leaves the tube at the hot end as hot air) and exits the vortex tube at the cold end as cooled air. The input air is literally split into hot and cold and can be quite extreme in range.

SM Series Metering Ball Valves ½" to 2" in solid plastics are now available from Chemline Plastics. They are designed for fine linear flow control of chemicals or clean fluids through 180o rotation of the handle. The valves feature a solid ball with a special V-groove cut on the outside surface. Other features include union ends, full blocking design, double stem o-ring for safety and Teflon seats. The seats have elastomer cushions to provide low stem torques and automatic compensation for seat wear and expansion. The all-plastic construction (PVC or PP) offers high chemical resistance at low cost. Pressure rating for PVC valves is 230 psi; PP is rated at 150 psi. True Union socket end connections eliminate leakage problems common with threaded body valves. SM Series is available with an electric actuator with onboard positioner, making it an inexpensive electrically actuated proportional (linear) control valve.

Nex FlowTM Frigid-XTM vortex tube panel coolers not only have major advantages over other cooling options but also over many other systems using vortex tubes. A vortex tube operates using compressed air only, dividing up the air into a hot and a cold stream with no moving parts. The cold air flow produced is used is directed into the enclosure to air condition the control cabinet.

The Frigid-XTM panel coolers has a built-in exhaust to vent the displaced hot air from inside the enclosure, so no separate vent is needed. This creates a slightly positive pressure inside the cabinet to purge the unit and keep out dirt, dust and debris.
